In their catch-up home game against Maesteg Celtic on Wednesday, Penlan were, once again, overwhelmed. On this occasion though they gave a better account of themselves, especially considering that they were lying in bottom table place and were up against the league winners. Penlan held them to two tries by half time with a 0 - 14 score but they never let their heads fall and had serious chances of scoring throughout the second half. It was not until 30 minutes that they did get through after some great Penlan passing that got the ball to the line and allow hooker Dean Davies to power over. Paul Spowart landed the difficult conversion to give Penlan 7 points. By the time the final whistle sounded the referee had credited the visitors with a total of 5 tries and a win by 7 - 34.
