On Friday evening Penlan travelled down to Swansea Uplands for their re-arranged game. With some new players and missing some stalwarts, (Captain Adam Glover for example is out until probably February) they knew it was going to be an uphill battle. Referee Mr. Steffan Davies from Swansea got the game underway with the home team making the kick off. The fast, mostly young, team put Penlan under pressure throughout the first half, although they did not score their first try until 15 minutes in. By the half-time though they had scored five tries, 4 converted, which gave them an impressive 33 - 0 lead. To their credit, Penlan never looked bowed and came back at the Uplands in the second half. Penlan scored a fine try after 5 minutes, which they converted. They had their chances in the second half and put up a good defence but the home side landed two more converted tries to give them a crushing 47 - 7 win at the final whistle. Penlan supporters continue to be proud of their team who put on a fine display of rugby despite the odds against them. The team's continued efforts and loyalty is to be admired and in the best traditions of Penlan.
