A crushing game for Penlan away against Bryncoch on Saturday held on a good day for rugby and managed by referee Mr. Alun Jones from Swansea. Loyal Penlan players continue to turn out for a gamer and hold their heads up while they strive against tougher teams. Bryncoch kicked off and scored their first try within 2 minutes. another 5 followed before half time, in the final moments of which Penlan managed to land their own two unconverted tries for a 36 - 10 score.
Penlan supporters hoped that their team's turnaround would continue but Bryncoch came back stronger and by the final whistle had scored another 6 tries to leave Penlan with a dissapointing loss at 74 - 10 which was their biggest deafeat of the season. There had been a good display by Penlan in the circumstances but apart from their rally in the first half they were closed down by the fast Bryncoch set up.
